Amyah Vixen, born in South West London in king’s college hospital in 1994, Brought up by her mother on an estate in Brixton seen to be as one of the worst. She was always involved in performing, although her mother never really supported or encouraged her to carry on making her feel as though she wasn't good enough for the music industry. This lowered Amyah's self-esteem and caused her to drift away from the thing in which she had a passion for However, thankfully now Amyah is back and making music in the studio with some of the best musicians, producers and song writers in the business. Featuring on musician Ferrero Diamond’s new upcoming mix tape, she's back with a vengeance and determination. We caught up with her in the studio earlier this week. Take a sneak peak at the interview below.
Q: What was it like having such lack of support from your mother as a young girl?
A: It was hard I guess, the person I needed support from most of all was not there for me. Made me feel like I was being disobedient and that obviously ledme to discontinue performing. The opinion of my mother always meant a lot to me, but as I'm older now I started to realise I’m going to have to start doing things for myself that makes me happy, live my life for me not trying to please others all the time. My mother and I still have a good relationship; I think she's beginning to understand this too. I am so happy I'm back in the business, no getting rid of me now.

Q: What was it like after so many years being involved in the art of performance, coming back into the industry?
A : Oh, it was actually a major learning curve. So many things have changed in the music industry, so I guess that was a great benefit. I love learning new things and meeting new people and that's basically what I've been doing since I came back into the business.

Q: What was it like working with Ferrero Diamond in the studio?
A: It was an amazing experience, he has such a open minded insight on music and everything he does is so unique and original. Being in the studio with him creates such a good vibe and always feels as though we have a banger on our hands. Can't wait to share what we've been working on to everyone, it's so exciting. I have learnt so much from working with him and he has a major influence on some of the tracks I've made for my own projects. Such a good feel to the tunes, it excites me.

Q: What do you see yourself doing in the next 2 years?
A: Oh, that's a tricky one. Well, I would hope to have a single in the charts and come out with a hit. I would hope to be more recognised in the industry by other artists and music lovers and have a wider fan base. I'm a very aspirational character, but I also like to keep my feet on the ground. I guess I'm saying I don't aim too high; I want to be able to reach the goals I set for myself to achieve.
